Levy Estimator Shows Cost in Property Tax for Levies on November Ballot
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano wants to ensure homeowners 'Know the Value of Your Vote' and is offering an updated Levy Estimator tool to help property owners understand how proposed levies in November's general election could affect future property taxes.
This November, there is one countywide levy on the ballot, and additionally there are local levies and bond issues in approximately 20 jurisdictions across the county. The Levy Estimator calculates and displays an estimate as to how much each levy that will appear on your ballot could cost in property tax dollars.
“Homeowners need to understand the large impact that levies can have on government services and on property taxes,” Stinziano said. “Make sure you know the value of your vote and that your voice is heard at the ballot box.”
To use the Levy Estimator, visit https://audr-apps.franklincountyohio.gov/LevyEstimator. After selecting your home’s location or entering a parcel number, the estimator will show both your current and estimated taxes if a levy or bond issue in your jurisdiction passes in the November general election.
As a reminder, the deadline to register to vote for the November general election is October 7, and early voting and absentee voting begins a day later on October 8. Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked by the day before the election, Monday, November 4, or dropped off at the Board of Elections office by Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, at 1700 Morse Rd. in Columbus by 7:30 p.m.
