Hello,
You are receiving an update from Ohio EPA regarding the detection of high lead concentrations in air monitoring in Delta, Ohio, resulting from demolition activities at the Bunting Bearings facility.
Ohio EPA collected air sample results from the Bunting Bearings demolition site on January 29, 2026, and February 1, 2026. These two new sample values remain trending low and are consistent with the type of monitoring values we would have seen prior to demolition occurring at the site.
Results show lower concentrations since the demolition has ended, and progress toward attainment of the U.S. EPA standard. The most recent data has been posted to our website. As additional samples are collected, analyzed by the laboratory, and reported to Ohio EPA, new data will be posted there.
A violation of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for lead occurs when the average concentration over a rolling three-month period exceeds 0.15 µg/m³.
These reports present the data in "raw" form, meaning the data is exactly what was collected from each pollution monitor and immediately reported by the laboratory. "Raw" data is not considered valid until it is verified by Ohio EPA and local air agency personnel. This process takes time.
“Final” data may differ from the “raw” data initially reported here.
