46 current CERT Programs in Ohio provided information on how they define an "Active" member.
As you can see from some of the responses, Programs vary dramatically in how they answer this fundamental question.
Snippet questions for you to think about:
- Does your Program Sponsor provide guidance for membership requirements / standards?
- Does your program have a process / procedure in place for vetting 'CERT Trained' individuals that want to become 'CERT Members'?
- Do you know that Ohio Revised Code (5502.28.c) specifies that NIMS is the standard for incident response in Ohio, and that NIMS guidelines require different training for responders based on their role in the response? Most volunteers need at least IS-100 and IS-700 to meet this requirement.

The National CERT Association rolled out its First Issue for Fall 2021 in August ~ submit your articles or pitches to newsletter@nationalcert.org
