Starting Off 2020 with Positive Momentum

We had a great first week back to school, with many students setting goals or new year's resolutions with a focus on being their best at school!  As a staff, we also took this opportunity to set our own personal "Help Others, Help Your School, and Help Yourself" #H3 goals!  As we started the second half of the school year, we look to continue the great things that are occurring here at Deer Park Jr/Sr High School, as well as looking to continue to strive for excellence by improving in all we do.  Happy New Year!

What's New?

#SethStrong Fund Raiser

Next Wednesday, January 15, Deer Park Schools and Gabby's Cafe will host a Spaghetti Dinner in support of Seth Dryer and the Dryer family. The event will be hosted in the Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School Cafeteria. A $10 plated spaghetti dinner will be available for carry-out or dine-in, with all proceeds from the event going to the Dryer Family.

We have created a Facebook event in order to help adequately prepare enough food. While walk-ins are welcome, we encourage you to join our Facebook event HERE.

If you have any questions, please contact the Deer Park Board Office at:
513-891-0222.

"Celebrate Excellence" Nominations

It's that time of year again where we get to celebrate our wonderful staff. Each year we participate in the Celebrate Excellence event where we ask for nominations for our outstanding educators.

The Hamilton County Education Foundation will recognize “Educators of the Year” from nearly every public school district in the Cincinnati area. Each individual school district submits their own top educator (including teachers, counselors, administrators, psychologists, etc.) to be honored at the 2020 Celebrate Excellence breakfast. This event brings together K-12 education, university, business and civic leaders to pay tribute to this impressive group of educators.

Characteristics of an excellent educator might include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrates a high commitment toward student achievement
  • Has the ability to challenge students to the next level
  • Is seen by others as genuine and sincere
  • Makes a positive difference in the classroom, school, and community
  • Demonstrates empathy for everyone
  • Strives to improve personally and professionally, and encourages students to as well

You can submit a hard copy by completing and printing a form HERE. Copies of the form will also be available at all district buildings (Amity, Jr./Sr. High School, and Holmes Building).

Completed nomination forms must be submitted to Jennie Cunningham at the Board Office at 8688 Donna Lane by Friday, March 6, 2020.
