What's New?
Weekly Photos
***NEW*** Beginning this week, we'll be including photos of our "Feature Grade" for each week. We will include a short description below of the week's activities, and the photos will be labeled "Feature Grade!"
This week, we feature the Kindergarten class.
This was an exciting week in Kindergarten. We have continued learning our math through work stations and play. There are a lot of manipulatives like polydrons, geoboards, and games to practice counting. We also had the opportunity to read with third and fourth grade buddies. Everyone loved getting to know each other and practicing our reading together.
Check out all of our photos from the week of September 9!
From Mr. Drouhard
Our teachers are working hard to build connections and community amongst our students from different grades. What started last spring as an event for Right to Read week, has transformed into a year-long connection here at Amity. Our upper grade levels are paired with a lower grade to build school community and work on a variety of skills beyond academics. It was great seeing a fourth grader give pointers to a kindergarten student about the coloring they are doing. I also came across a third grader that was intently practicing their book, and he shared that he was working hard so that the was ready to read to his buddy. These are great life long skills for our students to learn, and helps strengthen our Amity Family!

Car Line Safety
Parents,
Please do not use your cell phones during drop off or pick up. We have a lot of students moving to get in and out of vehicles, and staff members directing traffic. The safety of everyone is our top concern, and you can help us improve that by not using your phone. Thank you for your help!
ODE Report Card
The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) annually issues report cards for each Ohio school district and each Ohio school. The report cards look back on the school year and provide information on such areas as students' performance on statewide tests, graduation rates and early literacy rates.
The 2018-19 report card shows that Deer Park Schools has made significant growth and improvements in many areas of the report card. With an overall district grade of a B and an overall Performance grade of an A, we have a lot to celebrate and build upon. We are very pleased with our growth and we want to commend our students and staff for working incredibly hard to move the needle forward. We also realize there are plenty of areas for improvement and we will continue to do our best day in and day out to make steady progress and increase student achievement.
