High School

Thank You for a Great First Week!

Between our "Student Activity Time" on our first day, students helping out each other get lockers opened, parents supporting us with helping their students begin checking on those homework assignments, and teachers taking on new challenges, I'm excited about all the great things that have already happened at Deer Park Jr/Sr High School.  I'm looking forward to your continued support both as parents and as part of our Deer Park Family!

One very cool tradition in Deer Park is the First Day Slideshow!  Jake Snyder, our Director of Communications, does a great job of putting this together, and you can watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/giEpjTQGpSg

Picture Day - Monday, August 19th

Students should have received flyers from their first bell teachers this week with order forms.  You can also order your student's picture online by visiting:

www.mylifetouch.com

Enter the code: R3S79QTVE and then your student's first name to begin shopping for the best picture package for you and your family.

1 to 1 Chromebook Devices and Final Forms

Almost all of our students have been able to pick up their Chromebooks over the course of the first week of school.  If your student has not, please have them ask the front office so that they can be engaged in many important learning activities our teachers offer!

Please note that Final Forms must be completed before a student is permitted to receive a Chromebook.  Final Forms contains all the information your school needs from parents/students and for parents/students.  Final Forms must also be completed before a student can attend a school dance, a school field trip, or participate in extracurricular activities.  Here is a link to our Final Forms website.

Lastly, here is a link to our webpage's frequently asked questions (and their answers!) regarding the 1 to 1 Chromebooks

Fees

Please be proactive by paying your student's school fees as soon as you can.  Please also note that, per our Student Handbook, student fees must be paid in order to purchase dance tickets and participate in extracurricular events.  Unfortunately, we are no longer creating payment plans for students wishing to purchase homecoming tickets.  Homecoming will take place on October 5th this school year.

Here is a link to our EZ Pay site for fee payment.  You may also pay through our board office or front office at the Jr/Sr High School.  Thank you for working with us on this!

School Vaccination Requirements

The Ohio Department of Health has issued school vaccination requirements for the 2019-2020 school year:

  • All incoming 7th graders are required to receive one dose of the Tdap vaccine and one dose of the Meningitis vaccine (MC4) prior to entry.
  • All students entering 12th grade are required to receive two doses of the Meningitis vaccine (MCV4), unless the first dose is administered on or after the student’s 16th birthday, then the second dose will not be required.

A copy of the student’s vaccination record must be submitted to the school in order to complete the requirement(s). Please submit all records to the school clinic no later than September 3rd. Students that have not met the requirement(s) will not be able to attend school beginning on September 4th until proof of vaccinations is received.

You may obtain the vaccination(s) at any Hamilton Co. Public Health Dept. Clinics (513-984-7882), Walgreens Take Care Clinic, Norwood Health Dept. (513-458-4600), Kroger Little Clinic, or your family doctor.

Here is a link to a document with more information.  Please reach out to our school nurse, Ms. Dydo, with any further questions.
