Governor Mike DeWine announces extension of school-building closure, signs bill enacting COVID-19-related education changes
Governor DeWine announced plans to extend the current school-building closure through Friday, May 1. Additionally, the governor and Ohio Legislature enacted sweeping legislation last week to provide some flexibility for Ohio’s education community as the coronavirus-related school-building closure continues.
College Board updates plans for Advanced Placement exam administrations for spring 2020
The College Board has determined that traditional, face-to-face Advanced Placement exam administrations will not take place this spring. There will be two different testing dates for each AP subject.
Available for review: IDEA Part B federal application for federal Fiscal Year 2020
All states applying for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) must make their application materials for the federal funding available for public review and comment. IDEA Part B funds support districts in providing special education services to Ohio children ages 3 to 21.
Innovative Education Pilot Program application available now
The Innovative Education Pilot Program application for the 2020-2021 school year is available now. Any school district, educational service center or chartered nonpublic school may apply for statutory or administrative rule exemptions for its development, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs.
