The Ohio Department of Education is committed to providing your local education team with as much information as possible as we work together through the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health crisis.

This FAQ document is intended to help school and district leaders think through important local-level decisions. It has been co-designed in partnership with Ohio’s major education associations and informed by some of Ohio’s most trusted and innovative school and district leaders. The FAQ will be updated on a regular basis throughout the coronavirus crisis.

Each day, and by the hour, our districts and schools have been faced with a new set of challenges. In response, our school communities have stepped up to find local solutions which are not only in the best interest of students and families, but also prioritize the health and safety of our communities, our state and the country.

We have seen new levels of collaboration between local education, health, business and nonprofit organizations to ensure services continue and that student needs are met.
