 Ohio Department of Public Safety to Meet Youngstown State University Police Department’s Newest K-9
(YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio) Members of the Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC) and Ohio Homeland Security (OHS) will meet Youngstown State University Police Department’s (YSU PD) newest member, K-9 Barkley.
YSU PD applied for K-9 Barkley through the OHS Explosive Detection Canine Program. The OSSC was the initial sponsor of K9 Barkley, paying over $18,000. Now that K-9 Barkley is finished with training and considered “in service,” the upkeep and general care for him is funded by OHS.
