License Renewal Season Begins January 2, 2023

Do you have a question? Or a tip you'd like to share with PISGS licensees? Please send to PISGStips@dps.ohio.gov

All Class A, Class B, and Class C licenses expire on March 1, 2023, pursuant to Chapter 4749.03 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC).  All providers wishing to remain licensed can renew their license and qualifying agent(s) online beginning January 2, 2023. Once approved, your wall license and QA card will be mailed. Applications with required fees and documents must be submitted online or postmarked by March 1, 2023.

If your license expires, you will be prohibited from providing services, advertising, or soliciting business and all registered employees will be terminated. To reinstate your license, you will be required to submit a new provider license, qualifying agent application, and all required documents and fees.

The Private Investigator Security Guard Services (PISGS) online system is the most efficient way to renew your company license. To aid in the license renewal process, PISGS has also created a 2023 License Renewal User Guide, which can be found here.

If you have closed your business, please mail PISGS a letter, signed and dated, indicating the date your business ceased operation to avoid further communications regarding license renewal. Please also return your wall license and qualifying agent wallet card to PISGS.

If you have any questions regarding the renewal process, please contact the Licensing and Registration Unit at PISGLR@dps.ohio.gov or (614) 466-4130.
