Waiver Details - CORRECTION

Per Ohio Revised Code 4749.06, registrants must have their PISGS registration card with them while on duty. It is the responsibility of the licensee to ensure that each of their employees is properly registered and provided with their registration card once they have been approved by PISGS.

A licensee may choose to work an unarmed individual prior to receiving their registration card if they obtain a waiver signed by their client with the understanding that the registrant’s application has not yet been approved.

A licensee must have submitted a BCI background check and a paid registration application to PISGS prior to obtaining a waiver. The waiver must be signed by both the licensee and the client. A waiver is required by PISGS even if such language is included in a contract between the licensee and the client. There is no requirement to list each registrant that will be working for a client.

A sample waiver is provided on the PISGS website..
