SUMMARY OF RULES CHANGES

Pursuant to Revised Code (R.C.) 119.04, Private Investigator Security Guard Services (PISGS) has completed its five-year rule review of Administrative Code (A.C.) Chapter 4501:7-1. The rules were final filed on January 20, 2021 and have gone into effect as of March 1, 2021. A summary of the changes is outlined within the pdf document attached below.

We have highlighted some of the rules changes here:

  • No longer require a new license in the case of a change of the form of business or legal name. (4501:7-1-03 Requirement of new license)
  • Remove the requirement for a Quarterly Report. (4501:7-1-09 Registration of employees)
  • Require registrant’s email address for improved communication. (4501:7-1-09 Registration of employees)
  • Require a termination report to be submitted ten days following the termination or expiration of a registrant. (4501:7-1-09 Registration of employees)
  • Require that licensees keep true and correct records of all business transactions for the current calendar year plus two previous calendar years (4501:7-1-11 Records)
