Linn Street Reconstruction Project Update

One Lane of I-75 South Reopens Ahead of Schedule!

Hamilton County (Saturday, October 17, 2026 ~ 10:15 p.m.) – And just like that, southbound Interstate 75 is reopening to traffic...one lane, that is!

One lane of I-75 South is now open to traffic, following the interstate's closure late Friday for the installation of the nine remaining beams for the Linn Street Bridge Replacement project.

While crews from Great Lakes Construction have expedited operations to complete the beam installation ahead of schedule, there is still some work to be done before the remaining three lanes of I-75 can be reopened to traffic. Therefore, a triple-lane closure will be in place throughout the overnight and continuing to Sunday afternoon.

In addition to the triple-lane closure that will be in place, the contraflow lane between S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway and S.R. 562/Norwood Lateral and the ramp from the Western Hills Viaduct to I-75 South will remain closed until the remaining work is completed.

Currently, it is anticipated that the remaining restrictions will be lifted by early afternoon tomorrow, October 18.

Project At A Glance

The Linn Street Reconstruction Project, which is part of the broader Brent Spence Bridge Corridor and the improvements to the Ohio Phases 1 and 2 segments, includes replacing and reconstructing the bridge between W. 8th and W. Court streets and reconfiguring it to two, 10-foot driving lanes, with bike lanes and sidewalks on each side. The project will also include some minor reconfiguring of W. Court Street and Winchell Avenue, as well as replacement of the pedestrian bridge over Winchell.

Great Lakes Construction Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $46.7 million to undertake the Linn Street project, and while Linn Street is anticipated to be reopened to traffic in the fall of 2027, all work is scheduled to be completed in late spring of 2029.
