Lane Closures on I-71 North Today for Pavement Work

Single-lane restrictions near S.R. 38 exit

Fayette County (Thursday, September 3, 2026) – Emergency pavement work will require single-lane closures on northbound Interstate 71 in Fayette County today, September 3.

Crews from ODOT's Fayette County Highway Maintenance Facility will impart a single-lane closure on I-71 North between the Brock Road overpass and the exit to S.R. 38 (Exit 75) to repair the joint and pavement on the bridge over East Fork Paint Creek, which is immediately south of the S.R. 38 exit.

Beginning at or after 9 a.m., crews will close the right lane, and once work is completed in this lane, crews will shift to the left lane and close it.

Although it is undetermined when the team will move from one lane to the next, it is anticipated that all work will be completed by 6 p.m. today.

Motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone.
