Dry Fork Road Bridge Rehabilitation Update

Eastbound I-74 ramps at Dry Fork Road set to reopen;

Overnight closures scheduled next week on I-74 East and West

Hamilton County (Wednesday, September 2, 2026) – Right on schedule, the eastbound on and off ramps at Interstate 74 and Dry Fork Road are scheduled to reopen tomorrow, September 3, at or after 9 a.m. The ramps have been closed since July 20 as part of the Dry Fork Road widening and bridge expansion project over the interstate at Harrison.

Following the Labor Day Weekend, the contractor will return to the project to erect beams for the new bridge over I-74. This will require back-to-back overnight closures of the interstate while crews move and set the beams in place.

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8 and 9:

  • Full closure of I-74 East at the exit ramp to Dry Fork Road, from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • Motorists will be detoured by way of the off and on ramps at Dry Fork Road through an up-and-over traffic plan.

Thursday and Friday, September 10 and 11:

  • Full closure of I-74 West at the exit ramp to Dry Fork Road, from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • Motorists will be detoured by way of the off and on ramps at Dry Fork Road through an up-and-over traffic plan.

Saturday, September 12:

  • This date has been reserved as a backup or additional day in the event the work has not been completed.

Monday, September 14:

  • Closure of the westbound I-74 interchange ramps to and from Dry Fork Road. The ramps are scheduled to be closed for up to 45 days, and while they are closed, motorists will be detoured by way of West Road, Harrison Road and New Haven Road.

In addition to the upcoming, 45-day westbound ramp closures, Dry Fork Road remains closed through early to mid-December, and while the route is closed, motorists are being detoured by way of West Road and Harrison Avenue.

Project Overview

The Dry Fork Road project includes widening the bridge over I-74 to add turn lanes at the I-74 on-ramps; constructing a sidewalk along the bridge; widening the westbound I-74 off-ramp; and rebuilding the traffic signals at the ramps.

The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $8.25 million to complete the project, and although the project will be substantially complete by the end of this year, all work is scheduled to be completed in late spring of 2027.
