Preliminary work begins this week with overnight lane restrictions
Hamilton County (Monday, April 13, 2026) – Preliminary work for a pavement overlay project begins this week on Interstate 275 East and West in the Anderson Township area of Hamilton County.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be placing an asphalt overlay on the existing rigid pavement of I-275 in both directions between the U.S. 52 interchange and the Asbury Road overpass, east of the Five Mile Road interchange.
Beginning tonight, April 13, and continuing through Thursday, April 16, single-lane closures will be in effect on eastbound I-275, with the right lane closed from 7 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day for crews to perform dowel bar retrofits.
On Friday, April 17, the entrance ramp from Five Mile Road to eastbound I-275 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, and motorists may detour by way of Five Mile Road and U.S. 52 to the interchange.
Crews will return to the interstate next week, April 20-23, to work in the left lane of eastbound I-275, and single-lane closures will be in effect nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
The contractor will finish out the week working in the right lane of westbound I-275 on Friday, April 24, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday.
The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $9.85 million to complete the project, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained with evening and overnight lane closures. All work is scheduled to be completed in November.
