Sustainable Columbus has released its new climate action plan dashboard for the public to track the City’s progress toward its climate goals.
The Columbus Climate Action Plan (CAP) serves as the community’s roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening resilience, and advancing environmental justice.
Developed with community stakeholders and the public, the CAP outlines coordinated actions that government, organizations, businesses, and residents can take to help achieve a 45% reduction in emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
This dashboard connects climate goals, emissions data, and implementation activities to help measure our progress.
Columbus recently underwent a process to review and update the CAP last year, including outreach to engage more than 1,000 residents on climate action. Major adjustments include stronger residential and commercial energy efficiency goals to reflect progress made and opportunities for advancement.
