Columbus Public Service Changes Due to Labor Day
No City Trash, Recycling or Yard Waste Collection on Monday, Sept. 2
Trash Collection:
City of Columbus trash collection service will not be provided on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day.
For residents assigned a collection color, pickup will rotate forward by one day the week of the holiday:
Monday, Sept. 2: NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, Sept. 3: Ruby
Wednesday, Sept. 4: Gold
Thursday, Sept. 5: Gray
Friday, Sept. 6: Navy
Monday, Sept. 9 Pink
The color-coded trash collection schedule will rotate forward again on Indigenous Peoples Day, Monday, Oct. 14.
For residents not assigned a collection color: If your collection day falls on or after the holiday, your trash pickup will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday.
Recycling and Yard Waste Collection: Weekly recycling and biweekly yard waste service with a collection day that falls on or after the holiday will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday, with Friday’s collection occurring on Saturday.

The Refuse Collection Waste and Reuse Convenience Center, 2100 Alum Creek Dr., will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3, but will resume normal hours Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., for residents to drop off acceptable items for reuse or recycling. Parking Kiosks and Meters: Parking payment at city kiosks and meters will not be enforced on Monday, Sept. 2. Parking restriction signage at some meters will be enforced, including but not limited to morning and evening rush hours and zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicapped-only and residential parking permit areas.
Offices Closed: Department offices, including the Parking Violations Bureau and the Right-of-Way Permits Office, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2. Permits may be filed online at https://ca.columbus.gov/ca/
