WinterFest Returns to Bicentennial Park
COLUMBUS – Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is proud to announce the return of the fifth annual WinterFest to Bicentennial Park. Kick off the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 3, in downtown Columbus with live music, seasonal craft beers and some of the best fare from local food trucks.
“We’re excited to welcome back this annual holiday event to the Scioto Mile,” said Columbus Recreation and Parks Department Director Bernita Reese. “This family-friendly event is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season in Columbus and enjoy an afternoon surrounded by your family, friends and neighbors.”
“WinterFest is a great opportunity to begin the holidays by enjoying live music for free in downtown Columbus,” said Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “This event is a unique opportunity for Columbus residents to enjoy being outdoors together along the Scioto Mile to finish out the 2022 festival season.”
Live music kicks off at 11 a.m. on the Bicentennial Stage. WinterFest attendees will enjoy hearing live music from Larry Elfante, Ernie Johnson From Detroit and Ekoostik Hookah!
There will also be free activities for all ages, including a snow globe photo opportunity and a mechanical reindeer. Visitors age 21 and older can enjoy a seasonal craft beer truck along with the return of the popular hot bourbon cider, which sold out during last year’s festivities.
Enjoy a diverse range of food trucks including The Cheesy Truck, Fat Boy Q, Fork In Nigeria, Komodo Loco, Ninja Bowl, Paddy Wagon, Pitabilities, The Columbus Coffee Company, The Galaxy Coffee, Tortilla Street Food and Where It All Vegan.
In addition to WinterFest, the Scioto Mile will be aglow with holiday lighting, adding an air of festivity in downtown Columbus. Scioto Mile holiday lights will return on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and run through Monday, Jan. 2. Lights are visible from dusk until dawn each day.
WinterFest is presented by Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and made possible through the generous support of CD 92.9 FM.
