Council Hosts Somali-American Community Meeting

On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Councilmember Elizabeth Brown presents a first-of-its-kind Somali-American community meeting. This event gives residents a chance to talk with councilmembers and department staff in an informal setting. A youth networking session focusing on the experiences and needs of students and young professionals starts at 12:30pm. Translation services will be available.

“All residents should feel comfortable connecting with their elected officials, but sometimes City Hall can feel intimidating or far away,” said Councilmember Brown. “These community meetings are great opportunities to take that extra step to meet people in their neighborhoods to talk about the issues impacting their lives.”
