OnBoard: Limited Release Updates for Providers!

OnBoard: Limited Release - Updates for Health Care Providers

The early component of our redesigned business information system, OnBoard: Limited Release, is scheduled to be available during the summer of 2021. With time to prepare for what's to come, we encourage health care providers to review the materials on the OnBoard resources section of the Board’s website, including:

  • A fact sheet outlining what heath care providers need to know.
  • Frequently asked questions from health care providers.
  • A recording and downloadable slide deck of our latest health care provider webinar.

What's Coming Up Next?

Registration details for OnBoard: Limited Release will be available soon and shared via WCB Notifications. This information will detail who needs to register, how users register, system roles and responsibilities, and what can be done prior to the launch of OnBoard: Limited Release. If you did not receive this message directly through an existing WCB Notifications subscription (i.e., someone forwarded it to you), we encourage you to subscribe for email updates today. This will help you stay informed about when registration information, general project news, updated materials, and webinar training opportunities are available.

Our next webinar session will be held in April, and will include a brief project recap, updated frequently asked questions, and additional updates you need to know as we approach this summer’s implementation. Keep an eye out for the invitation.

Spreading the Word to Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers

Prior authorization requests (PARs) for durable medical equipment (DME) will be part of the new system in addition to a DME fee schedule. To ensure that the DME suppliers you interact with are aware of the changes coming with OnBoard: Limited Release, we encourage you to share these communications and urge your suppliers to subscribe for DME supplier notifications so they can directly receive these updates in the future.

Ensuring this information is available to DME suppliers is important for several reasons:

  • Health care providers will be submitting prior authorization requests for durable medical equipment.
  • Insurers have the option to indicate they have a dedicated DME network during their PAR review process. It is the responsibility of the insurer to make sure that they indicate the contact information of the DME supplier and that it is within a pre-prescribed distance to the injured worker.
  • OnBoard: Limited Release will allow Durable Medical Equipment (DME) suppliers to submit Requests for Decision on Unpaid Medical Bill(s) (Form HP-1.0) online.
  • Access to OnBoard: Limited Release will occur from the Medical Portal.  Therefore, registration for the Medical Portal is required in order to submit the HP-1.0 in OnBoard: Limited Release.

We thank you in advance for helping us spread the word to the supplier community!
