OnBoard: Limited Release Updates for Attorneys!

OnBoard: Limited Release - Updates for Attorneys

The early component of our redesigned business information system, OnBoard: Limited Release, is scheduled to be available during the summer of 2021. With time to prepare for what's to come, we encourage attorneys to review the materials on the OnBoard resources section of the Board’s website, including:

  • Fact sheets outlining what claimant and insurer attorneys need to know.
  • Frequently asked questions from attorneys.
  • A recording and downloadable slide deck of our latest attorney webinar.

What's Coming Up Next?

Our next webinar session will be held in April, and will include a brief project recap and additional updates you need to know as we approach this summer’s implementation. Keep an eye out for the invitation.

If you did not receive this message directly through an existing WCB Notifications subscription (i.e., someone forwarded it to you), we encourage you to subscribe for email updates today. This will help you stay informed about general project news, updated materials, and webinar training opportunities are available.

Change to the Request for Further Action by Legal Counsel (Form RFA-1LC) Submission Process

During webinars and information on our website for attorneys, we previously outlined the prior authorization request (PAR) scenarios where a claimant attorney can request a review by Adjudication. The submission process for Form RFA-1LC will no longer have a timeframe of "within 21 calendar days" for any PAR type. Claimant attorneys can submit Form RFA-1LC:

  • To request review by Adjudication after a denial by the insurer for “Administrative,” “No Jurisdiction,” or “Independent Medical Examination Scheduling” reasons for DME, MTG Confirmation, MTG Variance, MTG Special Services, Non-MTG Over $1,000 and or Non-MTG Under or = $1,000 at any time.
  • To request review by Adjudication after a partial grant or denial by the insurer for medical reasons that is supported by an independent medical examination for MTG Variance and MTG Special Services at any time.
  • To request review by Adjudication after a Level 3/Medical Director’s Office response for Medication, DME, MTG Variance, and MTG Special Services at any time

Reminder: the submission process for Request for Further Action by Legal Counsel (Form RFA-1LC) remains the same as it is today; using paper or electronic submission via the Board's website
