Unable to Attend This Year’s Delegates Meeting?

2021 Virtual Delegates Meeting

Unable to Attend This Year’s Delegates Meeting?

We are looking forward to your joining us at the Annual Delegates Meeting on Friday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are unable to attend the virtual meeting though, and your alternate will be attending and voting in your place, your employer must notify us of this by 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22. Your alternate will not be able to cast a ballot for the two teacher Board members unless notification is received by that deadline. We will email your employer to notify them of this deadline but your assistance in ensuring they notify us is appreciated. (Note: Only your employer can officially notify us of this change in attendance.)

As noted on the agenda, the election of two teacher Board members will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 29 using an electronic voting solution we will provide to you. It is imperative that delegates (or alternates voting in their place) participate. As noted in our Administrative Bulletin 2021-8, a previous decision by the New York State Commissioner of Education states that attending the meeting is part of a delegate’s official duties.

The virtual meeting will be held via Webex. We will soon email you instructions for accessing the meeting and a User Guide to ensure your access to the event is seamless.
