DEC Invites Public Comment About Cleanup Proposal for Brownfield Site on Smith St. & 5th St., Brooklyn; Public Meeting Scheduled

This link opens a fact sheet that invites public comment about a proposed cleanup to address contamination related to The Carroll Gardens/Public Place Former MGP Site #C224012 (Brooklyn, Kings County) within New York’s State Brownfield Cleanup Program:

DEC is accepting public comments about the proposal through April 25, 2026.

DEC has also scheduled a public meeting on Wednesday March 25, 2026 at 7:00 PM at P.S. 32 Samuel Mills Sprole School, 420 Union St., Brooklyn NY 11231 to discuss the proposed cleanup plan and accept public comments. Please see fact sheet for details about the proposal, meeting, and comment period.
