NYSDEC Extends Public Comment Period 30 Days to April 23, 2019 About the Proposed Remedy to Address Contamination Related to the Hercules Site, Port Ewen, NY |
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) issued a Proposed Plan for the Hercules Inc. site on February 22, 2019. A public notice which discussed the issuance of the Proposed Plan was provided to those subscribed to the Site mailing list and the DEC listserv for Ulster County. Based on a request from the public, the comment period is being extended 30 days to April 23, 2019. The Proposed Plan, Remedial Investigation, and Feasibility Study are available at the following locations. Town of Esopus Library NYSDEC Region 3 Office The Proposed Remedial Action Plan and Fact Sheet extending the public comment period are available at the following link: http://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/37552.html Comments received during the comment period, as well as oral comments received at the March 11,2019 public meeting, will be documented and addressed in the Responsiveness Summary section of the Record of Decision, the document which formalizes the selection of the remedy.
