Hudson River Estuary Grants Requests for Applications The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has announced that $2.2 million in funding is available for 2015 competitive Hudson River Estuary Grants for ‘Local Stewardship Planning’ and ‘River Access and Education’. These Requests for Applications (RFAs) implement priorities of the Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda. Funding for the grants is provided by the New York State Environmental Protection Fund (EPF), Hudson River Estuary Program. To download each RFA, please visit the New York State Grants Gateway and search for 'Hudson River Estuary', ‘River Access and Education’ and ‘Local Stewardship Planning’. Applications, eligibility requirements, and instructions for registering and prequalifying in the Gateway are included in the RFAs. River Access and Education RFA, Deadline December 16, 2015 New: Local Stewardship Planning RFA, Deadline December 16, 2005 The Request for Applications (RFA) for Local Stewardship Planning (Round 16) is available on the New York State Grants Gateway. Applications are due December 16, 2015 at 3 p.m. Tributary Restoration and Resiliency RFA, Deadline November 13, 2015 Approximately $630,000 is available for these projects. The grants are provided through the Environmental Protection Fund, the Natural Resource Damages Fund, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's State Wildlife Grant and are administered under DEC’s Hudson River Estuary Program. Applications are due November 13 at 3 p.m. The Request for Applications (RFA) for Tributary Restoration and Resiliency is available on the New York State Grants Gateway. Request for Proposals for Design of Sustainable Shorelines at Nutten Hook The goal of this project is to design ecologically-enhanced, engineered shoreline treatment(s) that resist erosion, enhance the recreational use of the site by the public, and improve the habitat value of the site for fish and wildlife species of the Hudson River Estuary. The project design will address present day conditions as well as account for projected increases in frequency of extreme storms and sea-level rise. Approximately $40,000 is available to support this project. Proposals are due November 13, 2015 at 12 noon.
