 As part of ongoing infrastructure improvements, the Centre Avenue Bridge is being raised by approximately 2 inches to ensure a minimum clearance of 14 feet, 6 inches for vehicles traveling on I-95 beneath the bridge across all lanes.

Save the Date: Children's Fishing Derby
Grab your hooks, rods, and reels and join the Department of Parks & Recreation for the Annual Children's Fishing Derby at Twin Lakes in Huguenot Park on Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
This free community event is open to children in grades K–8 and offers a fun morning of fishing, outdoor recreation, and friendly competition. Participants must bring their own rod, reel, and hook. Bait, snacks, and refreshments will be provided.

NRCA Presents: The World of Ugo Mochi, "The Poet of Shadows"
The New Rochelle Council on the Arts invites the community to step into The World of Ugo Mochi. On view from April 29 through June 30, the exhibit transforms the Rotunda Gallery at City Hall into an immersive showcase of Mochi’s intricate black-and-white outline art.

Hometown Hero Banners
The City of New Rochelle’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program honors local veterans and active-duty service members with personalized banners displayed along Main and Huguenot Streets in the East End.
Each banner features a service member’s name, photo, branch of service, and years served, creating a lasting public tribute to their dedication and sacrifice.
To participate, submit a completed application, a photo of your military hero, and a copy of their DD-214 or discharge papers (if available). Banners are provided free of charge, though donations are welcome. Completed submissions should be mailed or delivered to New Rochelle Post 8 American Legion, Attn: Commander Dennis Starr, 112 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801.
The submission deadline is August 1, 2026.

 Showcase your business, art, or talent at one of our community's biggest events of the year! The City is now accepting vendor applications for the 13th Annual New Rochelle Street Fair, returning on Saturday, September 19 (Rain date: Sunday, September 20) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM around City Hall.
More than 200 local vendors will line North Avenue and Hamilton Avenue for a spectacular day of food, crafts, live entertainment, and family fun. Spaces fill up quickly, so don't wait to lock in your spot!

The Youth Bureau’s Camp N.O.W. (No Opportunity Wasted) is a six-week summer program for New Rochelle students graduating 5th–7th grade, running July 6–August 13, Monday–Thursday from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM at New Rochelle High School, with lunch provided and a $125 program fee.
