This Memorial Day, our community came together to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Thank you to everyone who attended the ceremonies at Hudson Park and American Legion Post 8.
City Council Community Meetings Recap
 This week, the City concluded its series of Community Meetings across New Rochelle. These gatherings gave residents a fantastic opportunity to connect with elected officials, share feedback, and learn about projects impacting their neighborhoods.

Register Your Neighborhood Association Today
The City launched a new Neighborhood Association Database to strengthen communication and collaboration between City Hall and local communities.
The database will help the City share neighborhood-specific updates, emergency alerts, public meeting notices and important community information directly with residents and association leaders.
Neighborhood associations are encouraged to register and keep their contact information current, while residents without an existing association are invited to organize and create one in their community.

Down Payment Assistance Program
The City of New Rochelle’s Down Payment Assistance Program (DPAP) may be able to help eligible first-time homebuyers secure grants covering up to 19% of a home’s purchase price.
Informational orientations will be held at City Hall, 515 North Avenue:
- English: Monday, June 1, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers
- Spanish: Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 6:00 PM in Room B1

Employee Resource Group Volunteer Cleanup Day
 Earlier this month, the City of New Rochelle’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) came together for a successful Volunteer Cleanup Day, helping to keep our community clean and welcoming.
Volunteers focused their efforts on the areas surrounding City Hall, extending north to the Boulevard, up to Brook Street, and down to Horton Avenue. Their hard work and community spirit helped make a visible difference while reinforcing the ERG’s commitment to civic pride and service.
Summer Sizzle Season is Back!
 The City of New Rochelle, in partnership with PMG97, is proud to present the 2026 Downtown Summer Sizzle Concert Series, a vibrant lineup of free live performances happening every Saturday from June 6 through August 29, 6:30–9:00 PM at Ruby Dee Park (1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, NY).

Join the Parks & Recreation Department and Ward Acres Conservancy for a fun-filled day celebrating sustainability, community, and everyone’s favorite four-legged landscapers.

Coffee with the Mayor
Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert invites you to join her for an hour of coffee and conversation.
These monthly gatherings held around the city allow residents to connect with the Mayor over coffee, share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas, and ask questions about City issues.

Join the City of New Rochelle for its annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony, Monday June 2, on the front lawn of City Hall.

Join us at Anderson Plaza, Saturday June 6 from 2-7PM for the 4th Annual Pride Festival.
This vibrant, family-friendly event will feature carnival games, music, activities and food, designed to celebrate identity, connection, and the many ways love is expressed and shared. Residents of all ages are invited to take part in an uplifting atmosphere filled with color, laughter, and community spirit.

Flag Day
Join us in celebrating the grand ol' flag on Friday, June 12 at 10 AM on the front steps of City Hall. This patriotic gathering will honor the Stars and Stripes with community spirit, reflection, and pride in our shared American story.

Get Ready for a Summer of Outdoor Fun
 Kidz Archery — Wednesdays, July 8–August 12 from 4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. at Five Islands Park. Open to youth ages 9–14. All equipment and instruction provided. For information, email Lflowers@NewRochelleNY.gov.
New Rochelle Spring Slam Doubles Tennis Tournament — Saturday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinebrook Tennis Center. Open to players ages 18 and older of all skill levels. Registration is $40 per team. For information, email info@newrochelleny.gov.
Kidz Kayaking — Tuesdays, July 7–August 11 from 4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. at Five Islands Park. Open to youth ages 9–14. Safety equipment, instruction, and supervision included. For information, email Lflowers@NewRochelleNY.gov.

Register Early: Adult Cornhole League
Join us Tuesdays from June 2 through July 7, from 6:30PM–9:00PM at Donofrio Park for six weeks of cornhole, community, and good times outdoors.
Open to players ages 18 and older. One registration fee of $40 covers your entire team, so grab a partner and sign up early — space is limited!

NRCA Presents: Summer Sounds Concert Series
The Summer Sounds Concert Series returns to the historic Emil Paolucci bandshell at Hudson Park from June 24 through August 28.
Produced by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) in partnership with the New Rochelle Department of Parks and Recreation, this free annual tradition brings top bands and local food trucks right to our waterfront every week.

NRCA Presents: The World of Ugo Mochi, "The Poet of Shadows"
The New Rochelle Council on the Arts invites the community to step into The World of Ugo Mochi, a striking new exhibit celebrating the internationally renowned artist known as the “Poet of Shadows.”
On view from April 29 through June 30, the exhibit transforms the Rotunda Gallery at City Hall into an immersive showcase of Mochi’s intricate black-and-white outline art.

Youth Bureau: Camp N.O.W.
The Youth Bureau’s Camp N.O.W. (No Opportunity Wasted) is a six-week summer program for New Rochelle students graduating 5th–7th grade, running July 6–August 13, Monday–Thursday from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM at New Rochelle High School, with lunch provided and a $125 program fee.

Street Fair Vendors Wanted
 Showcase your business, art, or talent at one of our community's biggest events of the year! The City is now accepting vendor applications for the 13th Annual New Rochelle Street Fair, returning on Saturday, September 19 (Rain date: Sunday, September 20) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM around City Hall.
More than 200 local vendors will line North Avenue and Hamilton Avenue for a spectacular day of food, crafts, live entertainment, and family fun. Spaces fill up quickly, so don't wait to lock in your spot!
Submit your application by July 13 to take advantage of discounted Early Bird rates:
