Apply now for an apartment in Allen at 247 North Avenue in downtown New Rochelle. 31 fair and affordable rental apartments are available by lottery, ranging from studio to 2 bedrooms.

Mobile NR App!

The new Mobile NR app- available for iOS and Android- and computer portal let users report non-emergency issues and access information about City of New Rochelle happenings. Created with the aim of furthering the City Manager’s Quality of Life Initiative, Mobile NR allows citizens to upload photos, drop a pin on a map, and report an issue, non-emergency service request, or quality-of-life matter.

Quaker Ridge

Quaker Ridge Road Update

The City is applying for the newly-created Westchester County Complete Streets Municipal Assistance Program in September for Quaker Ridge Road, which recently had repairs completed in numerous sections between Weaver Street and Van Meter Fens.

Complete Streets projects are aimed at creating and improving roads to be more useful and safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. New Rochelle residents are invited to attend a Public Hearing on September 9th at 7 p.m. at City Hall to support the grant application.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 5 from 5-8PM for the New Rochelle Police Department's annual National Night Out. Hosted at NRPD Headquarters at 475 North Avenue, the event features equipment demonstrations, food, games, giveaways, children’s activities and more.

Celebrated nationally on the first Tuesday in August, the National Night Out program is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

This new event features youth vendors from the New Rochelle Youth Bureau's Summer Youth Employment Secure the Bag: Learn and Earn program who have launched their own small businesses. UPCOMING DEADLINES

First Half of the 2025-2026 School and Library Tax Bill Due in September 2025

In January of 2025, the City Council adopted legislation changing the collection months for School and Library taxes from October and April to September and March. The first half of the 2025-2026 School and LIbrary tax bill is now due on or before September 30th. The City's Tax Office has provided notice to all banks that make tax payments on behalf of a resident, via escrow, about this change in collection dates. For more information contact the City of New Rochelle Tax office at (914) 654-2058.


Veterans Advisory Committee

Veterans Advisory Committee- Last Day to Apply

Residents age 18 or older who currently or previously served in the armed forces, or who have significant professional experience in Veterans' Programming and Services are invited to apply. Applications are due Friday, August 1, 2025 at 4:30PM

Hudson Park Beach, Lincoln Park Pool Open Daily 

Hudson Park Beach is open every day from 10AM to 7PM, conditions permitting. Enjoy outdoor showers, the Hudson Park Café on the sundeck, public restrooms and a staffed parking lot. Parking is free with a Parks Passport!

Parks Passport

The Lincoln Pool is open 12-6PM daily! Admission is with a Lincoln Pool Pass.

Seasonal fee is $10 for adults 18+ and $5 for children ages 6-17. Pool is free for ages 5 and under.

And, shady spots offer little protection on hot days. Pets that are young, elderly, overweight, have short muzzles or thick or dark-colored coats are most at risk for overheating. L.L. Bean Discovery Classes

Take advantage of our partnership with L.L.Bean's Outdoor Discovery programs at Five Islands Park and enjoy expert-led experiences in kayaking, paddleboarding, and archery.

A variety of options are available for each activity. Kayaking and paddleboard experiences include private, group, and women's-only, along with guided and sunset tours- with a birding option for kayakers! Discovery, women-only and private classes are offered in Archery. This program is open to adults as well as older children with parents/guardians.

Recall Alert

Pool Recall Alert:

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is issuing a recall on nearly 5-million 48-inch or taller above-ground pools sold since 2002. The pools ---sold under brand names including Intex, Bestway, Coleman and Polygroup --- have been linked to at least 9 drownings between 2007 and 2022 and use compressions straps that could act as a foothold for children to climb in the pool. Join Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert for coffee and conversation at her monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” series. These casual gatherings provide residents with the opportunity to connect with the Mayor over coffee, share their thoughts, concerns and ideas, and ask questions about City issues. The next coffee is Saturday, August 23 at 10AM on the front steps of City Hall, 515 North Avenue. Free parking is available in the City Hall Parking Lot.

Need Assistance for Housing Disputes and Evictions?

The newly-created Westchester County Office of Housing Counsel (OHC) helps financially eligible tenants have access to resources and legal representation at no cost in eviction and related proceedings.
Residents facing eviction, having trouble paying their rent, in a rent dispute with a landlord, facing a loss of essential services like heat and hot water, or are facing other problems, can reach out to the OHC to be connected to legal representation, counseling, financial assistance and other programs, provided through one of nine service providers that the County has contracted with. Reminder: City Code (Section 270-7) prohibits placing signs on public property —including medians, sidewalks, and utility poles. Violation of this code section shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment of not more than 15 days, or both. Signs are only allowed on private property with the owner’s permission. Help keep our community clean and safe!
