Pet Waste Stations Installed Downtown
We’ve installed four new pet waste stations in the downtown, thanks to a pilot partnership between the City of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle Downtown BID. Locations were selected based on areas with the highest number of pet waste complaints last year.
French American Heritage Event
The City of New Rochelle cordially invites the public to the French American Heritage Month recognition event, celebrating the rich history, traditions, contributions and achievements of French Americans in New Rochelle and beyond.
This year's event will honor The Sister City Committee, for their dedication and support in building cultural links between New Rochelle, NY and La Rochelle, France.
The event will take place on Tuesday, July 15 at 5-7PM at City Hall, 515 North Ave, New Rochelle, NY, 10801. Light refreshments will be served.

Donate to the Citywide Backpack Giveaway Supply Drive!
The New Rochelle Youth Bureau is spearheading the annual Backpack Giveaway in August. Help us fill the bags with a donations of school supplies now through July 11!
Organized in partnership with community organizations including the City School District, Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle, Choice, Refuge of Hope and HOPE Community Services, this effort helps ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed. Your donations will help a New Rochelle student start their year on the right track.

Summer Sizzle Concert Features Curtis Salgado
Come to Ruby Dee Park in Downtown New Rochelle this Saturday from 6:30-9PM for his contributions to the blues genre have been recognized with multiple Blues Music Awards, including the prestigious B.B. King Entertainer of the Year and several Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year honors . Notably, Salgado was the inspiration behind John Belushi's creation of the Blues Brothers characters. The Blues Brothers' debut album, Briefcase Full of Blues, is dedicated to Salgado, and the character portrayed by Cab Calloway in the film is named Curtis in his honor.
Opening act is Soul Juice Live Band, bringing an electrifying blend of soul, funk, and R&B to the stage.

Coffee with the Mayor
Join Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert for coffee and conversation at her monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” series. These casual gatherings will provide residents with the opportunity to connect with the Mayor over coffee, share their thoughts, concerns and ideas, and ask questions about City issues.
The next coffee is Saturday, July 19 at 10AM at Toastique, 604 North Avenue.

NYMTC Seeking Public Comment for Regional Transportation Plan
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) invites you to review and comment on the programs/projects planned for the next Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), Moving Forward 2055 and the 2025 Congestion Management Process (CMP) Status Report. These two transportation actions documents, which are produced every four years, provide a framework for transportation planning within our region and are now open for public comment. MORE INFO

Quaker Ridge Road Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation Project
Rehabilitation of the concrete between Van Meter Fens and Weaver St. Construction will be completed in two stages, utilizing work zones with lane closures. A minimum of one lane shall remain open for each direction of traffic throughout the project. Work hours will be: Monday-Friday: 8AM-7PM, Saturdays: 10AM-5PM
CItywide Paving Underway
Milling and paving has begun on the neighborhood streets identified for 2025. A calendar is updated weekly as work is scheduled. Please note- work is done as conditions permit.

Kidz Archery and Kayaking Programs
The Department of Parks and Recreation is excited to partner with L.L. Bean to offer two 6-week kayaking (Tuesdays) and archery (Wednesdays) programs for New Rochelle children age 9-14 at Five Islands Park. All equipment is provided. No experience needed. Classes start July 8 and take place from 4:15-5:45PM.
L.L. Bean Discovery Classes
Take advantage of our partnership with L.L.Bean's Outdoor Discovery programs at Five Islands Park and enjoy expert-led experiences in kayaking, paddleboarding, and archery.
A variety of options are available for each activity. Kayaking and paddleboard experiences include private, group, and women's-only, along with guided and sunset tours- with a birding option for kayakers! Discovery, women-only and private classes are offered in Archery. This program is open to adults as well as older children with parents/guardians.

Hudson Park Beach, Lincoln Park Pool Now Open Daily
Hudson Park Beach is open every day from 10AM to 7PM. Enjoy outdoor showers, the Hudson Park Café on the sundeck, public restrooms and a staffed parking lot. Parking is free with a Parks Passport!
The Lincoln Pool is open 12-6PM daily! Admission is with a Lincoln Pool Pass.
Seasonal fee is $10 for adults 18+ and $5 for children ages 6-17. Pool is free for ages 5 and under.
