2024 HOLIDAY MARKET OPEN DAILY THROUGH DEC 22

Holiday Market 2024

Featuring over 45 vendors, live music and dazzling performances, culinary delights from our food truck village and an outdoor ice-skating rink! The New Rochelle Holiday Market takes pride in supporting MWBE businesses (Minority & Women-Owned Business Enterprises), with a special focus on New Rochelle businesses, makers, and entrepreneurs. Market hours are weekdays 4-8PM, weekends 12-8PM.

Free 2-hour holiday parking downtown Dec 1-31

In continuation of a holiday tradition and to promote holiday shopping in New Rochelle, enjoy two hours of free parking at the City Hall, Lawn Avenue, Library, Library South, North Avenue @Thruway, Prospect Street, and Union Avenue lots.

Free Holiday Market Parking at Transit Center Garage

Two hours of free parking is available on the rooftop deck of the New Rochelle Transit Center Garage for shoppers at the City’s Holiday Market at the New Rochelle Train Station, effective during market hours through Dec. 22, 2024, weekdays 4- 8PM and weekends 12- 8PM. The City of New Rochelle announced this week the launch of “Rochelle”, an advanced, AI-powered chatbot for the City’s website newrochelleny.com. This innovative- and multilingual- customer service tool will make it easier than ever for residents, businesses, and visitors to find the information and services they need 24/7/365, streamlining access to vital resources. Join us at Ruby Dee Park, at the annual Rudolph Rocs New Ro. Inflatables, dance performances, make-a-gift, crafts and more! Dress like a reindeer; antlers will be provided. Followed by the Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Lighting at Memorial Plaza at 4:30PM.

ROADWAY ALERTS

Webster Ave Roadway alert

Webster Avenue roadway restoration Dec 9-13

Veolia Water will be restoring the Webster Avenue roadway from Mayflower to Lincoln Ave. next week, December 9-13. 

There will be no parking allowed from 8AM to 4PM. Please observe posted parking restrictions. Expect partial closures and detours during work hours. Thank you for your cooperation.

Roadway Alert- S Division St

South Division Street Closure

Due to construction, South Division Street will be closed between Main Street and Leroy Place for the next few weeks.

Access the Prospect Street Parking Lot via Centre Avenue to shop local businesses and enjoy two hours of free parking 9AM to 9PM.

Glen Island Bridge Rehabilitation

Glen Island Approach Bridge Rehabilitation Project underway

Westchester County's Glen Island Bridge Reconstruction Project will provide much needed safety improvements, upgrading the bridge deck, providing steel repairs, electrical and mechanical upgrades, new masonry and painting, and sidewalk replacement. During construction, a temporary bridge will be built to the north of the permanent bridge so that the community can continue to enjoy Glen Island Park while repairs are underway. This will expedite the construction schedule, increase safety, and ensure that disruptions to visitors and mariners are minimal. Work will take place during the day and on some nights.

Hurricane Ida Home Repair & Reimbursement Program

Hurricane Ida made landfall in New York on September 1, 2021, impacting 10 counties with the bulk of the damage outside New York City occurring in Westchester. New York State's Ida Homeowner Repair and Reimbursement Program (IHRR) will help owners of 1 to 4 family homes to:

  • Repair Hurricane Ida damage
  • Receive reimbursement for completed repairs,* and
  • Install resiliency measures like elevating mechanicals, floodproofing, flood vents, and sewer backflow valves.

Helpsy Textile Recycling offers home pickup 

The City of New Rochelle, in collaboration with Westchester County, is proud to announce their partnership with Helpsy to offer a free and easy home pickup clothing and textile recycling service for the local community.

Accepted items include clothing, footwear, accessories, linens, luggage and stuffed animals. VIEW FULL LIST.

Fall leaves can be placed in biodegradable paper bags or open containers anytime for pickup. Yard waste will no longer be accepted.

No leaf piles

PSA: No leaf piles!

Leaf piles in the street are NOT allowed and will not be collected. Leaf piles in streets block catch basins and create hazardous road conditions. It is against City Code for landscapers to blow leaves into the street or onto a City island.

The New Rochelle Police Department's new Special Needs Registry is aimed at improving communications and safety for individuals with special needs in our community.This voluntary registry allows families and caregivers to provide valuable information on challenges like mobility, communication, or mental health issues that will be readily available to Police Officers responding to a call for service.
