Labor Day Collection Schedule

Holiday collection schedule next week

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, City offices will be closed on Monday, September 2. Next week will follow a holiday collection schedule: 
Tuesday:
Garbage and Trash North
Wednesday: Garbage and Trash South Thursday: Paper recycling/Garbage North Friday: Paper recycling/Garbage South 


Paving Updates

2024 Paving- Main Street West

Various repairs will be done along the Main Street between Cleveland Avenue and Weyman Avenue from September 4-6, 9AM to 3PM. The work will be taking place on Main Street below the I-95 and Railroad Bridge.

The master paving schedule and calendar are posted online. Work is done as conditions permit. Please observe posted parking restrictions and travel carefully in the work area.

Westchester Power Workshops

Westchester Power virtual information sessions in September

Customers currently supplied electricity by Con Edison are invited to learn more about a new municipal energy supply program helping residents and small businesses access renewable energy at competitive fixed-rates. A new contract will begin November 1, 2024.

Learn about Westchester Power rates, how to opt out of the program, the choice between 100% Renewable Energy or 50% Renewable Energy for your supply, and upcoming meetings in September- all on the Sustainable Westchester website

Spanish Harlem Orchestra

Downtown Summer Sizzle 8/31: Spanish Harlem Orchestra 

Celebrating 20 years of excellence, SHO- as they are known to fans- is dedicated to the sounds of the barrio of Spanish Harlem, NYC. Their music is characterized by the raw, organic and vintage sound defined by the genre. They are on a mission to keep the musical legacy of 'salsa dura' (hard salsa) alive and expand its audience to those who love great music, not just Latin music. Saturday night, Ruby Dee Park at Library Green, 7PM.

Summer may be ending but our Summer Sizzle concerts continue through September 21 with Tusk- Fleetwood Mac tribute (9/7), SoulShine Allman Brothers experience (9/14) and Tito Puente Jr., part of Hispanic Heritage Day (9/21)!

NRCA ArtsFest Makers Market- apply by August 31

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) ArtsFest is a weekend filled with art — including a Makers Market on Saturday, October 19 on the grounds of the historic Thomas Paine Cottage, featuring artisans, live music, and food trucks. Applications are now open for artisan vendors; the deadline to apply is August 31, 2024 at midnight.
