The remnants from Debby move into our area today with rain, wind gusts and flooding in vulnerable areas through tomorrow morning. Prepare now by securing outdoor items and charging cellphones and monitoring weather alerts. The City's multi-departmental Emergency Operations Center has been opened for response overnight as needed. Flood Mitigation Unit- hard at work
Acting City Manager/ Public Works Commissioner Wilfredo Melendez and Sewers & Drains Bureau Manager Alexander Oliveira stopped in to express their appreciation to the Flood Mitigation Unit crews for their hard work on the City's expanded Stormwater Maintenance Program with catch basin and culvert cleaning. In advance of storms, crews double down their efforts.

Congratulations to New Rochelle Police Department's newest promotees: Lieutenant Samuel Goldman, Sergeants Matthew Velasco, Derek Pierson and Anthony Sabatino, and Detectives Michael Nader and Jon Bulfamante.

The dedicated members of NRPD and NRFD were recognized for their service at Golden Krust's Community Appreciation Day, held earlier this week at their store on Anderson Plaza.

Two Clinton Place Ribbon Cutting
CIty officials joined Master Developer RXR in celebrating the grand opening of Two Clinton Park in the downtown. One and Two Clinton Park replaced an aging municipal parking structure with two amentiy-rich towers, a welcoming public plaza with community programming, and permanent local jobs.

Highgarden Tower Opens at 11 Garden Street
New Rochelle welcomes its newest 100% affordable housing building, an energy-efficient, 19-story building located at 11 Garden Street and steps away from the New Rochelle train station. Highgarden Tower offers 219 affordable units with great views of the city and coast, 77 of which are reserved for households with individuals who need on-site support services. A community incubator will soon come to life on the ground floor.

Clinton Park Saturday events: Plant Workshop
Grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden will teach you the basics of growing your own plants. This event is part of RXR’s Clinton Park Summer Series of free events for the New Rochelle community and also features a coffee cart from Casaroma Cafe. An 1824 living history extravaganza featuring reenactors, 19-gun salute, blacksmith, children’s toys & music, free arts & crafts, a large petting zoo and more on Sunday, August 18 from 11AM-3PM. Presented Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association and the New Rochelle Public Library, highlights include a re-enactment of Lafayette’s arrival at noon, Charles Dickerson Fife and Drum Bugle Corp, and live music and performances.
