Heat Wave Updates

Stay cool, New Rochelle!

Lincoln Park Pool and Hudson Park Beach will be open until 7PM through Wednesday, to provide evening heat relief.

Take refuge at one of our cooling centers (New Rochelle Public Library during library hours, and for seniors Hugh Doyle Senior Center 8AM-4:30PM) or cool off and have fun at the city's splash pads!

Due to the extreme heat, commingled collection will begin half an hour earlier. Please place materials curbside the night prior.

Flood Mitigation Project - Harmon and Storer

2024 Flood Mitigation projects begin

New Rochelle's first capital improvement project for flood mitigation is underway, part of the City's $10 million 2024 investment into aging stormwater infrastructure. Located at Harmon Drive and Storer Avenue, the project will implement design and construction upgrades throughout the area's stormwater piping to reduce flooding impacts. The project marks the start of the City’s long-term efforts to address and mitigate flooding issues and promote climate resiliency. Over a dozen additional projects are set to be implemented throughout the next 2 years.
