March 7 Affordable Housing Open House draws hundreds

Almost 500 people learned about affordable housing options at New Rochelle's Affordable Housing Open House on March 7, 2024, with presentations on the City's approach to Down Payment Assistance Programs, Affordable Housing Developments and Section 8. The presentations and handouts are available online.

Presented by the City of New Rochelle and the African American Advisory Committee, the joyous evening paid tribute to the legacy of Reverend Dr. Wallace L. Noble of St. Catherine's AME Zion Church, and honored Lady Nettie Jean Weaver, wife of the late Pastor Rev. Allen Paul Weaver Jr. of Bethesda Baptist Church.

The Department of Parks and Recreation offers camp activities for grades pre-K through 7 and current students of special education ages 5-21.

Summer Youth Employment graphic

Youth Bureau Summer Youth Employment applications open

New Rochelle youth and young adults are encouraged to apply for summer positions through the New Rochelle Youth Bureau’s Summer Employment Programs. Each program operates 20 or 25 hours per week for six weeks during July and August and pays $16.00 per hour. The deadline to apply is May 10.

Early Voting for Primary Election through March 30

There are two locations for early voting in New Rochelle:
• 90 Beaufort Place (City Hall)
• New Rochelle United Methodist Church, 1200 North Ave, rear entrance

Primary Election Day is Tuesday, April 2 with voting hours 6AM-9PM.

Help for homeowners facing foreclosure
