Pride

Pride Takes Center Stage at New Rochelle Summer Sizzle Concert Series

The City of New Rochelle is proud to announce its first annual New Rochelle Pride Festival, which kicks off in downtown Ruby Dee Park and adjacent Lawton Street on June 10th from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The Pride Celebration will coincide with the City's Summer Sizzle Concert Series, offering a free performance of Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute to Elton John at 7pm. Local food vendors Carrito, Leila Empanadas, Sweet Spice, and Hawaiian Shaved Ice will be present, as well as a roller-skating rink.

Traffic Advisory: Lawton Street will be closed to traffic on June 10 between the Library parking lot and Huguenot Street from 7am to 11pm. Parking will be available at New Roc Garage and the New Rochelle Transit Center.

Mobile City Hall

Mobile City Hall @ Ruby Dee Park

The City’s Mobile City Hall will be available during the Pride Celebration on Saturday, June 10 and will feature New Rochelle Parks & Recreation and the New Rochelle Youth Bureau. This initiative allows residents to interact directly with their local government and access city services.

Juneteenth

Juneteenth- All Month Long!

The Lincoln Park Conservancy and the City of New Rochelle will present a series of events to celebrate Juneteenth 2023. "History Out Loud!" events include: A jazz concert, spoken word, African dance, an historic trolley tour, kids games, exhibits, lectures, film screenings, gospel concert, drum line performance, African marketplace, food vendors and more.

New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (NRBID), announces the third annual Bloom & Grow Restaurant Week and Programs taking place from Friday June 9 through Friday June 16.The week-long event, which includes plant and floral essence-themed cocktails and meals in Downtown restaurants, a Plant Swap and Sip, and an inspirational “Grow Note” social media contest

REMINDERS

Summer Collection - Now Until Labor Day

All garbage, recycling and bulk items must be placed at the curbside for pickup by 6:00 AM on the scheduled day of collection. REMINDER: Plastic bags cannot be used for recycling. Instead, put commingled, paper and cardboard recycling inside covered containers up to 32 gallons and place at the curb on the appropriate pickup day.

Leaf Blowers

Gas-powered leaf blowers cannot be used May 1 through September 30. For further information please refer to the 2023 Refuse Collection Schedule at www.newrochelleny.com/dpw where you can also sign up for a customized collection schedule specific to your address

The 2023 paving list is online at www.newrochelleny.com/paving. Impacted areas are notified weekly through the City's New Ro Alert messaging system.
