Happy Thanksgiving! In observance of the holiday, City offices are closed November 24 and 25. There will be no DPW collection those days.

Traffic Advisory- Turkey Trot

5K Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving morning, a number of streets in the Historic District south of Fifth Avenue between North and Potter will be closed to through traffic from 8 AM to 11 AM for the 5K race, and some portions will be closed to vehicles entirely.

An Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Service and Reception will be held at 9AM, presented by the Interreligious Coalition of New Rochelle.

THANKSGIVING PARADE HIGHLIGHTS

Parade start with grand marshalls

With 9 giant parade balloons, 10 bands, 8 floats, vintage cars, superheroes, NRPD, NRFD, DPW, Parks & Recreation, community organizations, local businesses and more- this year's parade had something for everyone! Grand Marshalls City Manager Chuck Strome and former Parks Commissioner Bill Zimmermann led the parade, celebrating the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce's 100th Anniversary.

Turkey dinner donations

Turkey giveaway volunteers

The holidays were made happier for over 100 families at the annual Turkey Giveaway at City Hall, sponsored by the City Manager with help from the New Rochelle Youth Bureau, Fire Department,  Parks and Recreation, Finance and Law.

Volunteer group serving Thanksgiving Dinner

The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner was hosted by New Rochelle City Manager Chuck Strome and Schools Superintendent Jonathan Raymond on Monday, November 21. Over 150 neighbors were served a delicious meal generously dontated by local businesses and served by City and School District volunteers.
