Annual business registration due by Jan. 31
All businesses are reminded that business registrations are due by January 31, 2022. Businesses must renew their registrations annually.
By registering your business with the City you will receive valuable communications about resources to assist in dealing with the pandemic as well as ideas and programs to help them survive and grow.
- Registration is required for all retail businesses and strongly encouraged for all others
- There is no fee to register

Minimum wage increase
The New York State minimum wage increased on December 31, 2021. In Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties, it is $15.00 per hour.
Employers must post a Minimum Wage Information poster in their establishment.
Minimum Wage Rate Schedule

- Minimum Wage as of 12/31/2021: $15.00
- Tipped Service Employees: $12.50 Cash Wage | $2.50 Tip Credit
- Tipped Food Service Workers: $10.00 Cash Wage | $5.00 Tip Credit

FREE masks for restaurants & retail from Westchester County
If you have a restaurant or retail business and are in need of masks, please contact the NR Chamber by email and we will process the requests and oversee the distribution.
Send email to catherine@newrochamber.org indicating name and address of business and contact person.

Every home in the United States can order four free COVID-19 tests at covidtests.gov
The tests are completely free—there are no shipping costs and you don’t need to enter a credit card number or health insurance information to request tests.
The federal government has secured more than 420 million tests for distribution through covidtests.gov already, with plans to increase the order to 1 billion tests in the coming weeks.

Community Capital New York is an SBA micro-lender covering Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, Westchester counties, the Bronx and Fairfield County, CT. Start-up and existing businesses may apply for a loan between $1,000 and $50,000. Certain loans may qualify up to $250,000.

New York State COVID-19 pandemic small business recovery grant program
The New York State COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program was created to provide flexible grant assistance to currently viable small businesses, micro-businesses and for-profit independent arts and cultural organizations in the State of New York who have experienced economic hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employee retention credit limitation
The Employee Retention Credit is a refundable tax credit against certain employment taxes equal to 50% of the qualified wages an eligible employer pays to employees after March 12, 2020, and before January 1, 2021.
Eligible employers can get immediate access to the credit by reducing employment tax deposits they are otherwise required to make. Also, if the employer's employment tax deposits are not sufficient to cover the credit, the employer may get an advance payment from the IRS.
