Funding Opportunities
SBA Paycheck Protection Program Forgiveness Portal Accepting Applications Starting August 4th
Plus, upcoming webinars scheduled to review portal, forms, calculation and documentation
On July 28th, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced a streamlined application portal which will allow borrowers with Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans of $150,000 or less through participating lenders to apply for forgiveness directly through the SBA. The portal will begin accepting applications on August 4th.
Lenders are required to opt-in to this program through the SBA website https://directforgiveness.sba.gov. In addition to the technology platform, the SBA has a PPP customer service team to answer questions and directly assist borrowers with their forgiveness applications. Borrowers that need assistance or have questions should call (877) 552-2692, Monday – Friday, 8 AM- 8PM EST.
The SBA is offering free webinars to provide additional information on the Forgiveness Application, including the portal, forms, calculation and documentation. If you wish to attend, please register here and select the date you can attend from the pulldown menu

The Acceleration Project (TAP) will be providing strategic and tactical advice to six New Rochelle businesses to improve their overall performance and to help propel their businesses forward. TAP consultants will engage in an in-depth assessment of the business’ goals and needs and will help to build a customized action plan.
The application is simple, and there will be no cost. Program is funded by the City of New Rochelle Corporation for Local Development.

Payment programs available
Con Edison wants to help the region’s resurgence from the Covid-19 pandemic by working with customers struggling to pay their bills through special payment arrangements. All customers are eligible for a payment agreement regardless of prior payment history. Customers who meet certain conditions below may qualify for special protections.
Under state law, a commercial customer’s service will not be disconnected for non-payment through Dec. 21, 2021 if the customer confirms a change in financial circumstances starting on or after March 7, 2020 because of the pandemic, and:
- You are a small-business customer with 25 or fewer employees, and
- You are not a publicly held company, or a subsidiary thereof, and
- You are not a seasonal, short-term, or temporary Con Edison customer, and
- You are not a high-energy use customer as defined by the New York State Public Service Commission, and
- You do not have the resources available to pay your bill

Beechwood Organic Transfer Station closed for renovation
Unused vouchers for the transfer station will be reimbursed until Friday, August 13.
New Rochelle’s Beechwood Organic Transfer Station is temporarily closed for renovations and will not be accepting any spring/early summer yard waste or grass clippings from landscapers.
When it reopens, the reconstructed station will be equipped with a truck scale to ensure fair and equitable dump fees are charged. A new voucher system will be established once the construction has been completed.

Changes to COVID restrictions
With cases of Coronavirus again on the rise, businesses are encouraged to check the NY State website regularly for the latest guidelines regarding mask wearing, social distancing and other industry-specific requirements. Visit https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home for the latest information.

North Avenue Bridge work
The New York State Thruway Authority has begun their utility replacement project on the North Avenue bridge. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in either direction beginning this week. There will be no parking on North Avenue between Burling Lane and Lockwood Avenue and Burling Lane will be closed to through traffic from North Avenue to May Street.
