Iona College students participate in Citizens Police Academy

The 6-week program helped Criminal Justice students understand the policies, activities, and structure of the Department.

The Police and Community Together (PACT) Unit interacts with local neighborhood, school, civic, youth and business organizations. Beat officers cover three zones- north, central and south- and the Unit sponsors numerous community programs during the year including Mentors in Blue, National Night Out and Coffee with a Cop.

Community Contact Program

If a police officer has introduced himself or herself to you recently, there’s a reason.  It’s called “Community Contact,” a program that encourages all officers to proactively interact with residents and business owners.

Community-Police Partnership Board application deadline May 15

New Rochelle's Police Reform and Collaborative Plan, adopted in March, calls for the creation of a 13-member Community-Police Partnership Board, with seven members selected from the community. Apply by Saturday, May 15.
