Business News

                                                                                                         September 28, 2020

Hello Business Owner,

With deadlines for several key programs this week, please review and apply today.

Rebound New Rochelle

Small businesses and micro-enterprises are invited to apply for a “Rebound New Rochelle” grant through the City’s online portal, with funds available for rent, staffing, working capital or other critical needs. Completing an eligibility screener will determine if your business is eligible as a small business (less than 50 employees; with some restrictions for chains, franchises and particular industries) or a micro-enterprise (5 or less employees; business owner must meet income requirements; and other industry restrictions). Once qualified, you will receive an application to complete and return.

At this time, limited funding is remaining in the small business program and both the screener and the completed application with all supporting documentation are due by Oct. 2.   Small business applicants will be evaluated through a competitive process which will take into consideration business presence, community involvement, the impact of the pandemic and how the business has reacted, how the applicant intends to use the funds, and job support / retention.

Significant funding is still available in the micro-enterprise program and qualified applicants will be required to supply documentation defined by federal standards.

The Catalyst

Another grant program – Westchester County Business FIRST: Financial Investments for Recovery and a Sustainable Tomorrow – will be accepting applications until September 30, 2020 at midnight.

Businesses and nonprofits with 99 or fewer employees may qualify for up to $49,000 to cover expenses such as rent or mortgage payments, employee salaries or benefits, working capital, equipment and other COVID-19-related expenses. Applicants receiving funding from federal programs or Rebound New Rochelle are eligible to apply, but if awarded must use grant money for different expenses.
