SUBJECT: Three NLVPD Officers to be Recognized This Morning

North Las Vegas, Nevada – Three North Las Vegas Police Department Police officers will be recognized by the Southern Nevada Rotary Club in a ceremony this morning.

At 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012, the Southern Nevada Rotary Club will host an award ceremony in the County Commissioners’ Chambers in the Clark County Government Center located at 500 Grand Central Parkway.

Officers, Firefighters, and Medical Personnel from Southern Nevada Agencies will be recognized for their exemplary service.

The following North Las Vegas Police officers will be recognized:

Officer Mario Olsson will be recognized for his lifesaving efforts on a shooting call. His direct intervention saved the life of a gunshot victim with a severe neck wound.

Sergeant Darrell Semper will be recognized for his lifesaving efforts when he pulled a wheel chair bound man from his burning home.

Officer Dwight Kuykendall will be recognized for his courageous acts during a shooting call where he sustained serious injuries from multiple shotgun blasts. He was able to maintain radio traffic and with the help of fellow officers, assisted in taking the suspect into custody.
