SUBJECT: Double Murder Suspect Know as "Smokey" Arrested at Mexican Border

North Las Vegas, NV – Early Monday morning June 11, 2012 Immigration Officials at the San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego, Ca. arrested a man wanted for murder in North Las Vegas. The man, who was trying to enter the United States from Mexico, was detained on a murder warrant.

The suspect, Jose Alejandro Gonzales, aka: "Smokey" (see attached photo dtd 2-27-12) is 22-years old and is originally from Mission Viejo, Ca. He was wanted for the shootings which occurred on April 26, 2012 in the 2000 block of Webster St. Four people where shot, two men and two women. The men both died. The women are still recovering from serious gunshot injuries.

An alleged accomplice, Ivonne Cabrera (31), was arrested the day after the murders and remains in custody for: conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of 1st degree murder with a deadly weapon, two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, and burglary with a deadly weapon. Gonzales faces the same charges.

Detectives traveled to San Diego to interview Gonzales and will request his extradition to Nevada for prosecution.
