Dear Ward 2 Friends and Neighbors,

It has been an absolute honor to serve the residents of Ward 2 for the last 11+ years in office as your City Councilwoman. This time as a public servant, the growth and momentum we have experienced, and fought for, here in the City of North Las Vegas is in-large-part what drove my decision to run for North Las Vegas Mayor.

As recently announced, I will be accepting the role as Mayor in the coming weeks as decided on by you- the voters. I want to thank you for allowing me to serve the residents of Ward 2, for the numerous constituents who have shown their support time and time again, and for your trust in this expanded role. I want to ensure Ward 2 that I will continue to serve our residents in this new role and can't wait to communicate with you all as Mayor in the months to come.

As I shared in a recent Las Vegas Review Journal interview, we've done a lot of work here in North Las Vegas and have made a lot of progress... but, I'm just getting started! Can't wait to build on our foundation together in the coming months and New Year!

Happy Holidays & Best Wishes,

Councilwoman Pamela A. Goynes-Brown

Veterans and Community Resource Center Now Open

Our amazing veterans now have a new place to call home. We held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Veterans Resource Center on October 27, 2022, which is conveniently located along Centennial Parkway next to our Generational Facility run by the YMCA.

The Resource Center provides a great location for veterans to meet and interact. It is ideal for those in need of services to make appointments, and it is located close to the VA facility for veterans who have multiple visits on the same day. Services and schedules will continue to expand and populate.

Demolition Commences For The Largest Redevelopment Project In North Las Vegas

The City of North Las Vegas, in partnership with Agora Realty & Management, began demolition to make way for NLV Village, a 19-acre redevelopment project along the Lake Mead and Las Vegas Boulevard corridor. This is officially the largest redevelopment project in the history of City of North Las Vegas.

NLV Village is a $35 million project that will continue North Las Vegas City Council’s strategic vision to create a vibrant, livable downtown district where residents can more easily and comfortably live, work and play. This redevelopment will include new restaurants and shops, healthcare and medical services, micro-business units for start-ups and entrepreneurs, and is anticipated to create more than 900 new jobs. There will also be curated public spaces which will include children play areas, space for local artists to display their work, and a large event screen to share local experiences like watching sporting events or movie night with the family.
