Hello neighbors,
The North Las Vegas Veterans Community Commission's (VCC) is currently looking for board members to serve with its mission to assist local veterans with reintegration into the City of North Las Vegas community and accessing all available and applicable resources and services. The VCC acts an as advisory committee to the Mayor and City Council on matters related to the Veterans in the City of North Las Vegas in the areas of:
- Wellness
- Education
- Employment Outcomes
- Relocation Specialist areas
The commission is comprised of experts in their fields and are deeply committed to providing collaborative service to our veterans. It is our way of giving back to those who gave so much to us all! Harvest Festival
Join the Jet Foundation for a harvest festival and family fun day hosted by yours truly from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Liberty Park (outside of North Las Vegas City Hall), 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. N., North Las Vegas. Movie Madness: "Midway"
Join us for the last Movie Madness of the year at Aliante Golf Course, 3100 Elkhorn Road, North Las Vegas at dusk (approx. 6 p.m.) this Friday, Nov. 12 for a free showing of "Midway!" The 2021 Battleborn Cyclocross Racing Series
Cyclocross returns this weekend starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at to Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas! Never heard of Cyclocross? Cyclocross is a very specific type of bike racing that takes place, for the most part, off-road but there are sometimes portions of pavement included in the course. Racers can expect to encounter grass, dirt, mud, gravel, sand, and a whole slew of other assortments and combinations. Registration starts at $20. To register, visit their website.
Vegas Celtic Society Backyard Games
Join your fellow Vegas Celts for a one-day athletics competition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Craig Ranch Park, 628 W. Craig Road, North Las Vegas! Spectator admission is free. Beer and food will be available for purchase on-site. General rules for hanging are pack-in and pack-out, lawn chairs are welcome, popups are welcome, pets, children, and Celts must be under control at all times.
