SNUMA adds full day kindergarten to its program

The Southern Nevada Urban Micro Academy (SNUMA) has added kindergarten to its program, just in time for the 2021-2022 school year!

Also new for this school year, SNUMA is adding curriculum that is focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Mathematics (STEAM). The City is operating SNUMA in conjunction with Pioneer Technology & Arts Academy.

The free program is open to North Las Vegas families with children in grades K-8, as well as children of a parent or caregiver who works for a business located in North Las Vegas. Classes will be held at Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce St. and Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane in North Las Vegas.

Based on SNUMA's success and popularity last school year, the North Las Vegas City Council recently approved the return and expansion of the program to improve access to quality education for residents.

Parents can fill out this form to enroll or visit LearnNLV.com. For additional help with the online form or any other questions about SNUMA, parents can call the LearnNLV Parent Ambassador Hotline at (702) 625-9715.

Additionally, two informational meetings will be held for those who would like to learn more about the upcoming SNUMA school year: Tuesday, July 27 from 5-6 p.m. at Neighborhood Recreation Center and Wednesday, July 28 from 5-6 p.m. at Silver Mesa Recreation Center. Parents who plan to attend can RSVP here.
