Hello neighbors,

I'm thrilled to announce that we partnered with Walmart, Quest Diagnostics and DroneUp to launch Walmart's newest pilot delivery program that will drop off COVID-19 self-collection kits to North Las Vegas homes. This is the first program of its kind in the nation!

The kits will be delivered to single-family homes within a 1-mile radius of the North Las Vegas Walmart at 1807 W. Craig Road.

Once delivered, patients will perform a self-administered nasal swab in the privacy of their home, then ship the sample to a Quest Diagnostics lab using a provided pre-paid shipping envelope. The person will receive his or her COVID-19 test results through the secure Quest Diagnostics MyQuest online portal or app.

It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but this is happening in our own backyard! How cool is that?!

The “2020 Fall Homegrown Virtual Concert Series” continues tonight at The Amp!

I am also excited to announce the continuation of the 11-week, online "2020 Fall Homegrown Virtual Concert Series," featuring live performances from the valley's best artists and local bands, streaming live from North Las Vegas' premiere entertainment venue, The Amp at Craig Ranch Regional Park.

Tonight, local Irish band The Black Donnellys continues the series for viewers to enjoy safely from home. People can watch the concert online at https://www.facebook.com/CityofNorthLasVegas.

Only the performers and limited production staff will be on site in the 8,000 seat amphitheater in order to comply with social distancing protocols, crowd limits and other state directives. The event is closed to the public and is meant to be enjoyed online.

The shows will stream live from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday on the official City of North Las Vegas Facebook page and will feature a variety of top local bands and artists. The series is proudly presented by North Vista Hospital in partnership with the City of North Las Vegas.

Be sure to "like" the City's Facebook page to receive alerts when these performances go live, as well as other updates about performances and events at The Amp.
