May 2019 Pedestrian Safety Results
North Las Vegas, Nevada – Officers of the North Las Vegas Police Department held four Pedestrian Enforcement overtime events in May 2019. These four events coincided with the final week of school and focused in the area of schools before and after their dismissal times. Other officers worked pedestrian focused enforcement throughout the month as calls for service and other unit responsibilities would allow. Due to the fact that the majority of our pedestrian related accidents for the year have occurred in the Southern Area Command, officers saturated these areas searching for offenders.
As a result of this traffic and pedestrian enforcement, officers conducted 332 traffic stops, issued approximately 295 misdemeanor citations, and 37 warnings.
