Our team consisted of twenty four highly trained explorers competing against agencies all the way from Florida to California while representing the department and excelling in all the events. The NLVPD Explorers Unit participated in several team scenario's coming in second place in the "Officer needs assistance scenario".
The mission of the ExCon Competition is to provide the most challenging, exciting, applicable and affordable reality-based training to the nation's Law Enforcement Explorers & Cadets, thus preparing America's youth for a safe, successful and rewarding career in public service.
The North Las Vegas Police Explorer Program is a youth organization that is designed to assist young people in preparing for their future. Along with instructing them in the understanding of all areas involved in a law enforcement profession, it is also our goal to build on the Explorers themselves. We do this by building on their self-esteem, maturity, discipline, and responsibility.
The Explorer Program is a year round program with meetings each Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The location of the weekly meeting may change occasionally, but are generally held at the North Las Vegas Police Department-South Area Command, located at 2332 Las Vegas Boulevard North (at the corner of Civic Center and Las Vegas Boulevard North) in North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030.
New candidates should contact NLVPD Explorer Program Advisor Officer Ebert through email at Cityofnorthlasvegaspdexplorers@gmail.com.
The North Las Vegas Police Department is honored to have these dedicated young adults interested in a law enforcement career and can't wait to have them join the NLVPD and watch as their fulfilling career takes shape.
