Arrest in Homicide Investigation
North Las Vegas, Nevada – North Las Vegas police have arrested one person on homicide charges in connection with a drug deal that turned violent.
Allen Griffin was charged with murder with a deadly weapon in the death of Aneas David King.
About 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Coleman Street and West San Miguel Avenue. They located a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Medical personnel arrived and transported King to UMC Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Griffin, 17, and an unidentified subject met with King and a friend to purchase marijuana. The suspect allegedly shot King before fleeing the scene. The other unidentified male also fled before police arrived.
Detectives located and arrested Griffin a short time later.
